Ian has been involved in hockey since he was six years old. He played at the AAA level throughout most of his youth and continued into Junior A, where injuries eventually ended his playing career. After that, he moved into officiating, working in the NAHL, USHL, and WHL until retiring after the 2023 WHL season. Since then, Ian has focused on coaching youth hockey and helping players grow as a skills and development coach. Hockey has always been his passion, and it still is today.
Now, Ian is taking on a new role with AHA as an advisor. His goal is to help players and their families find the right path in the often overwhelming hockey world. With his experience and love for the game, he’s here to offer honest advice, strong support, and guidance every step of the way. Your success is his priority—because he knows just how much this game means.
